Understanding Acid Reflux Symptoms
Are you experiencing heartburn-a burning sensation that is felt in the chest, a pain that is felt in the neck, throat or angle of the jaw? Are you experiencing regurgitation-the expulsion of food or blood from the mouth, pharynx or esophagus? Are you having trouble swallowing to the point that it becomes painful? Are you experiencing nausea-discomfort in the upper stomach with the urge of vomiting? If you answer yes to all these questions then you are experiencing acid reflux symptoms.
acid reflux symptoms
Acid reflux occurs when the tube that is being used in the taking in of food does not function properly. It is both a normal and abnormal condition. It is normal because everyone can experience this once in a while. It becomes abnormal when you experience it frequently. If this is the case then it is time to see a doctor. Acid reflux can be a symptom of a more serious medical condition named Gatsroesophageal disease, also known as GERD. GERD can be treated and prevented if it is detected early. However, GERD can lead to a variety of medical conditions; the worst of them all is esophageal cancer.
