A Balanced Hypothyroidism Diet

An uncontrolled hypothyroidism can only escalate from bad to worse. So while you can, control what you eat and know what are the right foods for your diet. This way, complications can be avoided in the future. Here are some of the foods you need to include in your daily intake.
• Balanced Carbohydrate diet – this means you have to take low amounts of carbohydrates in your diet. This helps in burning fats as well as activating your thyroid all over again. Too many carbohydrates will slow you down thus feeling weak and fatigued.
• Vegetables – eating fresh vegetables is good for your body. It will give you the energy you need without too much toxins or fats. Eating uncooked vegetables and salads is a must in your meals.
• Low calorie diet – you should reduce your calorie intake to at least 500 calories daily. Like carbohydrates, too much intake of calories can also slow your metabolism and will only weaken you. A small serving of calories per day is enough. Check what the recommended calorie intake is for you.
• Fresh Fruits – fruits that are high with Vitamin C and A is good for the thyroid. It also helps in getting rid of the toxins out of your body making you all energized and active again.
• Proteins – protein gives you energy. Eating liver, egg, nuts and fish can be a good substitute to have if you are restricted to eat meat.
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water too. It is recommended that you should take at least 8-10 glasses daily. So be sure that you follow these simple food plans for a healthier you.
